🦖 Velonasaur — The Living Turret
The Velonasaur is not just another predator — it is a legendary living turret that has become a symbol of terror for all who dare to enter the wastelands of Extinction. Its ability to fire volleys of quills at long range makes it one of the most dangerous creatures in both PvP and PvE.
The Velonasaur is a mobile turret with unlimited ammunition that compensates for its fragility with incredible firepower.
Unique Mechanics:
🎯 Turret Mode — the core feature. The Velonasaur opens its frill and begins firing quills at a high rate of fire. This works even when you are not mounted, making it an automatic turret for base defense. Upgrading melee damage increases quill damage only when you are mounted.
🌀 Thrash/Spin Attack — capable of spinning around itself, dealing area damage and firing quills in all directions. This is effective against swarms of small creatures and for gathering fish.
✈️ Grounding Flyers — its quills knock flying creatures out of the sky after several hits. This makes it a killer of Wyverns and other flying mounts in PvP.
🛡️ Armor Ignoring — the Velonasaur’s quills ignore the armor of the Rock Elemental, dealing full damage. This makes it indispensable for farming the Lava Golem on Ragnarok.
⚠️ Weaknesses: Very low weight (poor transport), fast stamina drain in turret mode, and vulnerability in close combat without support.
Taming:
- Knockout with Tranquilizers, Darts, or a Crossbow
- ⚠️ Critical Tip: The Velonasaur is susceptible to Bola and the Net Gun. Use the net to instantly immobilize it, then shoot tranquilizers.
- Tactic: Do not try to tank it head-on — its quills deal massive damage. Use rocks or cover to shoot from.
