🦖 Veilwyn — The Ice Fox Teleporter
The Veilwyn is not just another shoulder pet — it is a unique companion from the Lost Colony expansion that combines the traits of an arctic fox and a portal creature. Its ability to teleport, create clones, and grant buffs makes it incredibly useful both in combat and in world exploration.
The Veilwyn is a fragile but incredibly mobile companion whose main value lies in cloning, teleportation, and buffs.
Unique Mechanics:
🌀 Teleportation — the Veilwyn can create small portals to teleport itself and, in some cases, its owner. This makes it ideal for fast travel across the map.
👥 Cloning (Call Friends) — the core feature. It can create up to 6 clones of itself that attack enemies. The clones live for 60 seconds and grant a pack bonus to damage, but increase incoming damage by 15% per clone.
🐾 Companion Mode — similar to the Armadoggo. In this mode, the Veilwyn cannot die permanently: upon «death,» it phases out and respawns after one hour. It also receives a percentage of the player’s experience and doubles its damage.
❄️ Surprise Attack — teleports to the target and attacks, applying Freeze, which stacks up to 30 times.
🔔 Veilwyn’s Whistle — in Companion Mode, the player receives a special whistle for issuing commands remotely.
Evolutions:
The Veilwyn can evolve into one of two forms using special Vulpite crystals:
🛡️ Solwyn (Natural Evolution) — a defensive form focused on support and healing. Requires Pristine Vulpite to evolve.
⚔️ Malwyn (Artificial Evolution) — an aggressive form resembling a hellhound. Requires Corrupted Vulpite to evolve.
Taming:
The Veilwyn is a passive tame through «Claim»:
- Crouch and carefully sneak up to it (use a Ghillie suit for camouflage)
- When the «Claim» prompt appears, press the interact button
- ⚠️ If it notices you — it will create decoy clones, and you will have to wait for them to disappear before trying again
- Only the original Veilwyn gives the «Claim» prompt — the clones do not
- ⚠️ Important: Some players report that the Veilwyn can also be tamed via knockout (tranquilizers), but this is harder and slower. The passive method is officially recommended.
