The Ossidon is not just another predator — it is a unique engineered apex predator created specifically for the harsh expanses of Arat Prime’s snowy biomes. This massive creature embodies the strength and cold fury of nature, becoming a formidable addition to any collection.
The Ossidon is a powerful combat mount, combining ranged cryogenic slime attacks with melee combat and the ability to literally crush an enemy with the weight of its body.
Unique Mechanics:
🧊 Cryogenic Slime — the core feature. The Ossidon generates an excess of cryogenic slime, which it can roll into a destructive ice ball or spray as freezing rain, slowing its prey. This turns any encounter into a struggle for survival in the cold.
🦶 Weight Charge — uses its own mass as a weapon, capable of literally crushing an enemy with its body weight.
🏔️ Mantle — capable of climbing up rocky ledges while jumping.
🌊 Underwater Attack — has a special attack underwater.
🤝 Symbiotic Bond with the Rider — a unique mechanic that will change the balance of power on the battlefield.
Taming:
The Ossidon has an extremely difficult tame, as it is immune to tranquilizers:
- Knockout via Desmodus — while on a Desmodus, the Ossidon applies torpidity, then dives down. You have 5–10 seconds to mount it.
- Feeding for Effectiveness — while it sleeps, feed it kibble or Sanguine Elixir to raise taming effectiveness — it drops very heavily.
- ⚠️ Beware of Ice Spikes — spikes fired by the Ossidon anchor to the ground and create zones of constant damage for several seconds. Even after taming, these zones will damage you when dismounting — watch where you step.
Combat Use:
The Ossidon is a boss-class creature. With the support of a Yutyrannus and a Daeodon, it is capable of destroying a Giganotosaurus.
