🦖 Megalosaurus — The Night Lord
The Megalosaurus is not just another predator — it is a unique nocturnal hunter whose power changes dramatically depending on the time of day. This makes it one of the most tactical and dangerous creatures for nighttime raids.
The Megalosaurus is a nocturnal predator with a huge power gap between day and night.
Unique Mechanics:
🌙 Night Buff — from 20:00 to 05:00, the Megalosaurus gains +25% damage, +15% speed, +10 resistance, and +85–90 health. During this time, it is stronger than a Tyrannosaurus in base damage.
☀️ Daytime Weakness — during the day, it falls asleep and becomes extremely vulnerable. While it sleeps, it can be easily killed or knocked out.
🦷 Jaw Grab — can grab a player or a small creature and hold it in its jaws, dealing damage.
⚠️ Night Awakening — regardless of its torpidity level, the Megalosaurus wakes up when night falls (around 20:30).
Taming (Special Feature):
The Megalosaurus wakes up every night, resetting all taming progress. The only working strategy is «Starvation Taming»:
- Knock it out during the day (when it is slow).
- Do not feed it — let its food drop to zero.
- At night it will wake up — knock it out again.
- Repeat until enough hunger has accumulated, then load all the food at once.
Spawn Locations:
- The Island — Central Cave (Artifact of the Hunter)
- Aberration — Aberrant variant (does not sleep during the day, always in night mode)
📖 Why It Deserves a Place in the Collection
The Megalosaurus is a unique tactical predator that punishes those who don’t know its mechanics. During the day it is harmless, at night it is deadlier than a Rex. Its complex taming through «starvation» and sleep/wake cycles makes it a trial for patient survivors. For collectors, it is a creature that combines historical significance (the first described dinosaur) with unique gameplay — from nighttime raids to the most difficult taming process.
