🦖 Fasolasuchus — The Sand Assassin
The Fasolasuchus is not just another predator — it is a unique creature from the Late Triassic that will become a formidable addition to any collection. In ARK, it is presented as an ambush predator that swims through sand, making it unique for both PvP and PvE.
Interestingly, the Fasolasuchus was a terrestrial predator, but its anatomy allowed it to move in unusual ways. Unlike other rauisuchians, it had only a single row of osteoderms (bony plates) along its back, and the structure of its vertebrae gave its skeleton additional rigidity.
Unique Mechanics:
🏜️ Sand Swimming — the Fasolasuchus can burrow into sand and wait in ambush for prey, like a giant bear trap.
🌀 Sand Vortex — capable of swimming around a target fast enough to trap it.
🦶 Tail Fan — its tail whips up sand, blinding both predators and prey.
🦠 Acid Bite — its caustic bite penetrates thick hide, and the acid glands are located at the base of its spines.
💪 Struggle Against Large Prey — adapted to struggle against larger creatures, but vulnerable to swarms of small creatures.
Taming:
The Fasolasuchus has an extremely difficult tame with a unique mechanic:
- Wait for it to burrow into the sand (it will look like a mound of sand)
- Throw explosives (a grenade or C4) onto the mound — it will burst out with torpidity
- Immediately mount it — you only have a few seconds
- Drive it into rocks, salt, metal, or crystals — each impact fills the torpidity bar
- Watch the control bar — if it empties, you will be thrown off
- DO NOT drive onto cliffs or into water — this will instantly throw you off
- After it is knocked out, feed it Exceptional Kibble (98.5%) or Raw Mutton (93.6%)
⚠️ Important: The Fasolasuchus is immune to most narcotics — it can only be knocked out through this mini-game. Use crystals (red crystals in the Astraeos desert give maximum torpidity) or salt rocks for a fast knockout.
Spawn Locations:
- Scorched Earth — southwestern part of the map, around the Colosseum, and along the desert edges
- Aberration — the Aberrant Fasolasuchus variant (one of the few maps where it appears)
