🦖 Daeodon — The Hell Pig
The Daeodon is a powerful support creature from the Late Oligocene and Early Miocene, and a valuable addition to any collection. Here’s what makes it special.
Unique Mechanics:
💉 Healing Aura — the Daeodon passively heals all nearby tamed creatures at the cost of its Food. This works on babies, tames, and even allied dinosaurs in boss fights.
🔥 Extreme Appetite — its healing ability drains Food extremely quickly. A Daeodon can empty its food bar in seconds if left on passive healing. Keep its inventory stocked with Raw Meat at all times.
🍼 Wyvern Milk Substitute — one of the most valuable uses: a Daeodon can heal baby Wyverns so they survive without Wyvern Milk, saving you from dangerous milk runs.
🗺️ Berry Gatherer — when set to wander, it can gather berries, making it a passive resource collector.
Taming:
- Knockout with Tranquilizers or Darts
- ⚠️ Critical Tip: Before knocking it out, try to trigger its healing ability. This drains its Food, which instantly speeds up taming once it’s unconscious.
- Trap Strategy: Use a Bola to immobilize it, or trap it in a stone structure with doorframes. It eats a lot — prepare 8–10+ Superior Kibble for high-level tames.

- The Island — Snow biome, around the snow mountain (not the blue obelisk mountain)
- Ragnarok & Lost Island — Desert biome
- Genesis Part 1 — Bog biome (not in packs)
- Scorched Earth — Can spawn anywhere
- Aberration & Extinction — Does not spawn
