🦖 Armadoggo — The Loyal Companion
The Armadoggo is not quite a dinosaur in the classic sense. It is a unique creature from the Bob’s Tall Tales: Wasteland War expansion for ARK: Survival Ascended, combining traits of an armadillo and a dog. Its scientific name is Canis Fodiensocius, indicating its classification among canines despite its armadillo-like shell.
Features:
🐕 Companion Mode — the core mechanic. In this mode, the Armadoggo gains access to a radial command menu and a special whistle.
🪦 Burial After Death — if the Armadoggo dies in Companion Mode, it doesn’t die permanently. Instead, it burrows underground and respawns after one hour with full health.
🎒 Swappable Accessories — a unique equipment system that allows you to adapt the Armadoggo for different tasks.
🗺️ Map Finding — when killing wild predators, it can find special maps with rewards.
👥 Pack Bonus — when grouped with other Armadoggos, it gains bonuses to damage and resistance.
Taming:
- Passive — cannot be knocked out with tranquilizers
- Mechanic: drop food on the ground (Regular Kibble or meat) → wait for the Armadoggo to start eating → quickly pet it (E key on PC)
- Repeat the cycle until the taming bar is full
- ⚠️ Important: do not approach with other tamed creatures — wild Armadoggos are aggressive toward them
Variants:
- Normal Armadoggo — spawns in city, desert, and wasteland biomes on Extinction, as well as on Genesis Part 1 (islands in the ocean biome)
